What you are looking at
This FGC webcam at Espot, in the Pallars Sobirà area of the Catalan Pyrenees, looks out from the cafeteria terrace at about 2,000 m. The frame shows the terrace railings and benches in the foreground, a wooden chalet-style building, chairlifts climbing the hillside, and ski runs cut through the pine forest on the slopes above.
Espot is a mountain resort above the village of Espot, at the edge of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, the only national park in Catalonia. The resort is popular with families and offers views of the high Pyrenees. In summer, the area is a starting point for walks into the national park and its many mountain lakes.
Expect a new still roughly every ten minutes. Winter frames show snow cover and activity on the runs; in fall and spring, clouds and mist often drift through the forest.
