Live cameras in Douliu, Taiwan

Douliu is the county seat of Yunlin County and its political and economic center, a city of about 108,000 people on the eastern side of the Yunlin plain, where the land begins to rise toward the foothills. Yunlin is one of Taiwan's most agricultural counties, and Douliu serves the farm towns around it with markets, hospitals and schools, including the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology near Renwen Park. Its signature street is Taiping Street, lined with Japanese-era facades in baroque styles from three different periods. The Douliu Roundabout, a county landmark, has evening water shows, and Renwen Park offers a skating rink and green space for families.

Freeway 3 and the Yunlin plain

Douliu's list comes from government road cameras that Taiwan makes freely available through its national transport data service. National Freeway 3 is Douliu's main highway link, with the Douliu interchange at about kilometer 260. Provincial Highway 3 also passes through the city on its inland route between Nantou and Chiayi, and Provincial Highway 78, the east-west expressway across Yunlin, connects Douliu to the coast. Since a camera lands on the page of whichever town is closest, Douliu's list is a mix of freeway lanes, interchange ramps and junctions on the county seat's outskirts. The frames are snapshots refreshed every few minutes, not live video.

Douliu keeps Taiwan time, UTC plus eight, with no change in summer. The plain is hot and humid from May to September, with plum rains in early summer and typhoons later in the season, while winter is dry and pleasant, though the northeast monsoon can bring chilly mornings. Long June evenings last until roughly 6:45, while winter dusk falls by about 5:15. Look on weekday mornings for commuters and farm trucks, or on holiday weekends when Freeway 3 carries traffic between north and south.

The Yunlin high-speed rail station is in neighboring Huwei, and the Gukeng hills, known for coffee and the Jianhu Mountain theme park, rise just to the southeast.
