MeteoSwiss uses the camera mainly to watch weather along flight routes through the Alpine Rhine valley. This valley is well known for foehn, a warm, dry wind from the south that can bring clear air, high temperatures and racing clouds over the peaks. You may also see low clouds clinging to the mountainsides, snow down to the valley floor in winter, and summer days when cumulus clouds build over the peaks by midday. On clear days the mountain outlines are sharp all around.
