What you are looking at
This FGC webcam at La Molina looks over the Pista Llarga, one of the resort's runs near the base area. The frame shows a broad, gentle slope, a chairlift running up the left side with its chairs and towers, snow cannons and fences along the run, a building at the top, and pine forest framing the view.
La Molina, near Alp in the Cerdanya, opened Spain's first ski lift in 1943 and is still one of the busiest resorts in the Catalan Pyrenees. Runs near the base area like this one see much of the day's traffic, and snowmaking helps keep them open when natural snow is thin. In summer the slopes are used for hiking and biking. Check the resort's page for opening dates and conditions.
The snapshot updates about every ten minutes. Winter frames show snow depth, grooming and how busy the run is; in spring, patches of grass appear first along the edges. Snow cannons are often visible running on cold nights early in the season. Tip: this camera is useful for checking whether the lower runs are well covered before a day of skiing.
