Berga is the capital of the Bergueda, a mountain county in the north of Barcelona province in Catalonia. The town climbs a hillside about 700 meters above sea level where the Llobregat valley meets the first ridges of the Pyrenees, and the sanctuary of Queralt looks down on it from a rocky crag above. About 17,500 people lived here in 2025. Berga grew from a Roman hill settlement into a medieval market town and later a textile center, and its old quarter keeps narrow streets and stone houses.
Berga is best known for La Patum, a fire-and-drum festival held each year around Corpus Christi, usually in late May or June. Giants, dragons and devils dance through the main square to the beat of a big drum called the tabal, with plenty of fireworks. UNESCO named it a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005, and it joined the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008.
The cameras on this page come from two Catalan public bodies. The Servei Catala de Transit, the regional traffic authority, runs road cameras around Berga, including on the C-16, the Eix del Llobregat, the main road that runs north from Barcelona past the town toward the Cadi tunnel and Cerdanya. Because Berga is close to the mountains, the page also shows the nearest webcams run by FGC, the Catalan railway company that operates several mountain resorts. These include La Molina, the ski area in Cerdanya about 26 km to the north, where Spain's first ski lift opened in 1943, and Vall de Nuria, a high valley near 2,000 meters reached by a rack railway, with a sanctuary and a lake view.
Berga uses Central European Time, UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer, when clocks run ahead from late March to late October. Snow usually settles on the resort cameras from December into spring, while in summer the Nuria views show green meadows and hikers. Afternoon storms are common over the mountains in summer. Nearby, the Cadi-Moixero Natural Park and the Pedraforca peak rise in the mountains to the north.
