MeteoSwiss runs this high mountain weather camera at Torrent, in the ski and hiking area above Leukerbad in the canton of Valais, at about 2,333 meters. The panorama shows a lift station, a small storage lake, gravel tracks across the slopes and a dramatic wall of limestone peaks across the valley, with a view toward the Rhône valley on the other side.
The Torrent area faces the great rock faces around Leukerbad and the Gemmi Pass, which make an impressive backdrop when the sky is clear. You may see clouds pouring over the ridges, early snow on the peaks in autumn, deep snow and skiers in winter, and brown and green alpine pastures in summer.
