Port Erin Bay, Isle of Man webcam

What you are looking at
The Isle of Man Government publishes this webcam at Port Erin, a seaside village in the south-west of the island. The camera looks over a slipway and harbor area toward the breakwater with its small lighthouse, the sheltered bay and its sandy beach, and the hotels and houses that line the hillside around the bay.
Port Erin Bay is framed by high headlands, including Bradda Head on the north side, and the beach is a favorite in summer for swimming, paddleboarding and families. You may see small boats launched from the slipway, walkers along the promenade and the tide moving in and out across the sand. The bay faces west, so evening light and sunsets can be beautiful, while winter storms roll in from the Irish Sea. The village is also the southern end of the Isle of Man Steam Railway.
The webcam shows still images that refresh about every five minutes, time-stamped in the corner. A practical tip: check the camera before heading to the beach. The image shows quickly whether the bay is calm and sunny or whether a sea mist or westerly wind has rolled in.
